Some days, Garrison Kelly feels good about the world around him and can conquer any problem with love, peace, and unity. Other days, he wants to take a flamethrower and turn his universe into ashes and smoke. Necrograph (which translates from Greek to “Death Writing”) explores both sides of this love-hate dichotomy in the form of heavy metal lyrics. War, bigotry, poverty, mental diseases, and general nastiness are enough to spark the fire in Garrison’s belly. You may survive in a lot of climates, but the darkness of his mind is not one of them. You can either pick up a guitar and sing along, or you can submit to his form of pyrocratic justice.

Violence, conformity, bigotry, zeal, and shallowness. These are all things that plague our world despite all of this progress we’ve made as human beings. These are the same themes that can be found in the disturbing and oftentimes disgusting modern day tales found in this short story collection, American Darkness.
How do you talk down a bullied student who wants to burn his school to ashes? What are the right words to say when composing a letter to an abusive best friend? Is a stiff alimony payment really worth going off the grid for? At what point does vigilante justice trump the justice served by a corrupt police department? The dark side of humanity can be found in many places. Where will you find yours?

If professional wrestling is fake, then why are Mitch McLeod’s most painful nightmares so real? It’s because being KDW World Heavyweight Champion means he must take on all challengers, even those of the monster, demon, and undead variety. Every suplex and body slam Mitch performs will be countered with fireballs, poison, and barbaric force from these otherworldly opponents. Even his girlfriend Debra Winter is vulnerable to these hellacious assaults as is helpless referee Rosie Rogers. Having a hateful boss is one thing. Having a vindictive sicko like Keegan Day breathing down their necks is much worse, especially since he’s the one pulling these monsters’ puppet strings. Mitch, Debra, and Rosie can file as many police reports as they want and quit the company for greener pastures, but Keegan Day and his minions won’t relent until the trio’s spilled blood and shattered bones are decorating the city streets. Was Mitch McLeod right when he crossed the boss or did he simply cross the point of no return? This action-packed novel won’t leave anybody unscathed whether it’s win, lose, or draw.
